You get to an age in life where you realize you get to shape your life instead of it shaping you. I feel incredibly lucky to have found a profession I love. I understand that what you do in your work every day comprises not only a bulk of your time on this earth, but can impact every other part of your life from your health to your relationships to the opportunities you have and can make for others.
I love helping people improve their lives. After over 10 years in the recruiting profession, I decided to start 4 Paws Recruiting in 2016 because I realized I wanted to direct the course of my sails and handle business based on my own values.
My wife and I have always been animal lovers. Throughout our years together we have always had cats and dogs as part of our family. So when we started to think about our company, what we wanted to build, what it would mean to us, what it would stand for, we realized so many of the traits we loved in our animals reflected the things we felt were important in our business.
Have fun
work hard
play but don’t be a game player
be perseverant
don’t make things complicated that don’t need to be
be enthusiastic about life
forgive and move on
be loyal
be honest
treat everyone as the special person they are
be creative
Give more than you take
We have a sign in our kitchen that reads, "We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give."
We want 4 Paws Recruiting to be a different kind of recruiting firm because of how we treat our clients and our candidates. We want them to know, through how we do business, that we are listening, that we care about their journey, that the right fit for both the client and the candidate means everything. We feel like basing a business on that is pretty different from the other recruiting firms out there. That's ok, we like being different in that way. The other thing that is different about us is our name. We decided on the unconventional name of 4 Paws Recruiting because we wanted people to ask about how and why.
All along, our goal has been to help improve people's lives, and then in turn be able to improve the lives of animals in rescue. So while 4 Paws Recruiting is a recruiting firm for finance and accounting, it also does double-duty FOR paws by helping animals in rescue who need it.
At this time, we are so grateful to say that we are able to partner with a no-kill animal rescue organization. Contributions from
4 Paws Recruiting help improve the lives of animals through funds for emergency medical care, and through a new program where each pup receives a harness that goes with them when they are adopted. This helps to lessen the chance of loss of a newly adopted pup, as well as improves their adoptability through better leash manners with a device that that doesn't pull on their neck, thereby avoiding injury. We can’t wait to see additional ways we can continue to contribute to more animals being saved.
I am so excited every day to come to work and potentially help make a difference in someone’s life. Thank you for checking out our website and reading about what we are trying to do. If this sounds interesting to you, please reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you soon!
I am a Golden Retriever and love to smile and “talk”. I became Scooter when the Clarks adopted me in 2013 after I was found on a rural highway, malnourished & covered in ticks and fleas. My favorite thing is to be with my family, especially cuddled on the couch or in bed. Roxy is my best friend. I love to greet her every morning, put her whole head into my mouth and play all day. I love to chew on ice cubes, go on walks or runs and look for squirrels. When I spot one, I jump up and down with excitement.
I am a solid, 70 lb., Pitbull/Lab mix and was adopted from a rural outdoor shelter. I was very sick when my family rescued me, but they nursed me to health. Now I am one of the most laid back pooches you’ll ever meet. I like everyone, and love to lick your face with my HUGE tongue. Annie is my best friend. I like to bite her back legs when we’re outside and she then chases me. I also love vegetables and ice cubes!
I am a 65 lb, Border Collie/Lab mix. I am the Alpha of the family and am constantly on the lookout. I was adopted by the Clarks when I was almost 2 after having a very “ruff” start. My first owners tied me to a metal post in a junk yard where I was found with rope burns down to my neck skin. I am so thankful my foster mom found the Clarks for me. Onyx became my best friend immediately. My favorite things are to play dress up and have my toenails painted, lay in the sun and be loved on by my people. At night, I sleep under a sign my family made that says “Princess Annie”.
I am a 45 lb Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. I was adopted when I was 10 weeks old at a shelter. It took a long time for the Clarks to discover my breed (early on they thought I was a cat/dog because I love to stretch out on the back of the couch to sleep, or a tiny Golden Retriever). I am so cute and soft that everyone wants to pet me – but only special people can (my family)! I love to chase tennis balls and my favorite buddy is my surrogate mother – Annie! I am also a shadow to my dad – where he goes, I go!
I am a little pocket Pitbull, 46lbs, and was the Clark’s first foster failure! You see, they rescued me from death row at the animal shelter when no one wanted me and I needed leg surgery. They gave me the best life while I waited for surgery, and after, they decided to adopt me! I have the best life ever! I love to ride in the car to get the girls from school, go on walks and play with my best friend Roxy. My Mom says I changed their lives because I taught them how a dog who was so scared and fearful that he had forgotten how to be a dog, has become the cuddliest, gentlest “pillow pet” ever!
I am a 20 lb mix of some crazy stuff! I was the Clark’s second foster failure! I was too young for the shelter when I was found in the freezing cold (at 6 weeks old and 7 lbs), so the Clarks decided to foster me until I was old enough for the shelter. During this time, I became best friends with Georgie. We developed such a special bond, even though he is SO much bigger than me, he played with me and made me feel safe. When the Clarks saw this, they decided they had to adopt me too! I have a LOT of personality and am NOT AFRAID OF ANTYHING! I love everyone, especially my “Pee Paw” and my new kitty brothers and sisters!
Hi! I am 70 lb. Lab/possibly Hound mix and I am one big crazy galoot! The Clarks met me after my first adopted family returned me to the shelter. They took me for a walk (or I walked them because I pulled so hard on the leash) where I ate goose poop the entire way around the lake. They fell in love with me and brought me in as their 7th pup! I LOVE exercise; chasing tennis balls, rollerblading with my dad, or playing with my little sister Roxy. Even though she is 20 lbs., I think we are the same size! We love to chase each other, jump on the furniture, and while my family is working with me on that, they mostly laugh and love me!
Meow! Lil Lovey, Baby Tarzan (or “BT”) and Mr. Cuddles are our names. Our Mom brought us home to foster when we were in a high kill shelter after being found in a ditch right before a hurricane was coming. She brought us home, cleaned us, gave us medicine and food, wrapped us like tacos to keep us warm. That’s how we became the 3 Purrrritos! Shortly after, the entire family fell in love with us and adopted us! We love to explore, climb anything, play with toys and dogs, snooze in a window. We love everything and are so happy we get to stay together and be a part of the Clark family forever.
